Board of directors
The Board is responsible for the formulation of the corporate policies and dictates the direction for the achievement of the set-goals. It is made up of the Chairman, the executive Managing Director and seven other non-executive directors nominated by the shareholders. A brief resume of the members is presented below:

A seasoned industrialist with extensive experience in Sales and Marketing backed with a powerful exposure in Information Technology. Mr. Afolabi Awomolo currently chairs the Board. He is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of a muti-million Naira aggro-allied firm, IMO Hill Farms Limited and also sits on the Board of Alumaco Plc. He is married with children.

Mr. Olugbenga Awomolo
A professional lawyer with specialisation in Immigration law, Mr. Awomolo had his university education at the University of Lagos and University of Wales, Cardiff. He was admitted into the New York, US Bar in 2001 and has worked in various parts of the US. He joined the Board of Nigalex in 2003. He is on the Board of other companies notably Alumaco Plc. Lagos and International Breweries, Ilesa, Osun State. He is married with children.

Mr. Des. Braithwaite
Mr. A. O. Braithwaite is an insurance practitioner. He is a product of St. Mary’s School, Ellesmere College, Cyracuse University and London School of Insurance. He started his working career with T. A. Braithwaite and Associates, London (1983). He worked with Universal Export and Finance Co. Ltd., UK (1987 – 1992) and thereafter joined Fibro Limited. (subsidiary of Investment Holdings Ltd.) as Managing Director. He joined the Board of Investment Holdings Limited in 1998 and became its Executive Director in October, 2001. He also sits on the Board of Metalum Ltd., Marine Technical Services and Inspection Co. Ltd., Fibro Limited, Bema Limited and Inter-state Securities Limited. He is married with four children.

Mr. Gbadebo Taiwo Oladejo
Gbadebo Taiwo Oladejo (JP) is a highly accomplished insurance practitioner and entrepreneur with over three decades of experience in the Nigerian Insurance Industry. He holds multiple Master’s Degrees, including an MSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan, a Masters in Industrial and Labour Relations from the same institution, and an MBA from Ondo State University (now University of Ado-ekiti).
Gbadebo is an Associate of both the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, and Nigeria. Throughout his career, he has held significant executive roles, including serving as the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Great Nigeria Insurance Plc, Executive Director – Technical at Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation, and Executive Director – Marketing & Branch Operations at NICON Insurance Ltd, Abuja. He also served as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NICON Insurance Ltd, Abuja.
In addition to his insurance expertise, Gbadebo is a successful entrepreneur, founding Supreme Hotel & Suites and McDeb Consulting. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership by serving on the board of several organisations, including Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board and as a Director for Inland Containers Ltd, NIGALEX Ltd, and Civic Micro Finance Ltd.
Gbadebo’s professional and community involvement is extensive, as he is a widely travelled professional and a member of several prestigious clubs and associations, including:

Alhaji Suleiman Garba
Alhaji Suleiman Garba holds an Honors Degree in Accountancy and Master in International Affairs & Diplomacy, He possesses an advanced Certificate in Computer and Post Graduate in Accountancy. His work experience spans over 20 years in New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC) Limited’s departments and directorates. He was seconded to Drake & Scull (Nigeria) Limited (Air Conditioning, Electrical & Mechanical Services) and Arewa Suite, Limited Abuja to serve as Head Finance & Administration in these Subsidiaries. He is a certified member of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and has served in various NNDC committees and membership of key professional bodies including, Chartered Institute of Risk & Loans Management, Chartered Institute of Management, Institute of Management Consultants, European Institute of Corporate Governance, Nigerian Chartered Institute of Taxation, Certified Public Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (Nigeria) and Chartered Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators (USA). He has attended a number of technical and management courses in Nigeria and overseas. He is also a board member of ASO Motel Limited Kaduna. He is married with children.

Mrs. C. O. Osipitan
Mrs. Osipitan is a seasoned underwriter, marketer and an administrator with proven management capacities, vast academic background and profound experience. She is also a renowned and respected Insurance professional with over 20 years of cognate experience in Insurance. She graduated from the University of Ibadan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Sciences and Physiotherapy with a Second Class Upper Division. She also holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from University of Lagos. She also has a Bachelor of Law Degree from the same University.
Mrs. Osipitan started her career in Insurance with Royal Exchange Assurance of Nigeria (REAN) and rose to the position of an Executive Director on the Board of REAN, She also held various positions such as Head (personal line Department), Head (Commercial Property Department), Assistant General Manager (Underwriting, Claims, & Risk Management), Deputy General Manager (Operations) until her appointment as Managing Director/CEO of UNIC in January 2006. She was later appointed the Managing Director/CEO of Insurance PHB. She joined Great Nigeria Insurance Plc in December 2009 as the Managing Director/ CEO.
She is an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London and Nigeria and a member of the governing council of CIIN and Risk & Insurance Management Society of Nigeria (RIMSON), She has also attended several technical and Management courses both within and outside Nigeria.

Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adeniji
Mrs. Adeniji is a Chartered Accountant. She had her university education at the University of Lagos where she graduated in Civil Engineering and proceeded to Harvard University USA where she bagged Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She had her articleship at Arthur Anderson and later worked with CitiBank. She is currently an Executive Director with Bank of Industry (BOI). She also sits on the board of Alumaco Plc. She is married with children.
